Why top 11? Because I like to go one step beyond.

Here they are, the top 11 Shakespearean badasses!

NUMBER ELEVEN: Isabella from Measure for Measure

The woman is a nun, for crying out loud. A nun. A sweet, innocent, pure, pious nun. And yet she delivers some of the strongest examples of sticking to your guns imaginable. She not only refuses to compromise herself for the sake of anyone, she manages to make all right with the world of the play and is one of those characters that all the male readers seem to get crushes on. Though she doesn’t actually do any violence or even use language that is terribly tough, Isabella is one of the strongest characters Shakespeare ever wrote due to her inner strength.
