214. Cressida and the Trojans

with one comment

Lauren Shufelt (fellow Shakespeare enthusiast and blogger) and I have decided to start a girl band called Cressida and the Trojans. All our songs will be sung by Shakespearean characters, and of course all our songs will go along with said theme.

Here’s what we have come up with thus far:

A duet between Kate & Beatrice: “We’re Not Bitches (We Just Have Brains)”
A revamped version of “Stand by Your Man” for Hero
“You Don’t Have to Say you Love Me” for Cordelia
“Papa Don’t Preach” sung by Hermia
“Helen of Troy was Kidnapped”
“Hero was Framed”
“Tamora was Misunderstood”
“The Shrew so did NOT need to be tamed!”
“Isabella is marrying who?!”
“Too Honest to live, too sweet to die: The ballad of Cordelia”
“I skipped my swimming lessons: An Ode to Ophelia”
“Jungle Fever”, or “The Desdemona Confessions”
“Let’s Not and Say We Did”: The Widow’s Daughter in All’s Well That Ends Well
“Desperate Hot Blonde”: Helena + Demetrius

  1. And we’ll be sponsored by Trojan Condoms and pass them out at the concerts!
