365 Days of Shakespeare

That's right – the Bard in a year.

145. You don’t need to steal Shakespeare. His stuff is in the public domain. Duh.

Oh, you were stealing a first edition of Shakespeare’s published works worth about $4 million? Okay, your theft makes slightly more sense now.

Or your lack thereof. A man in Durham, who deals in antiques, claimed to have discovered a first edition of Shakespeare’s works in Cuba. He went to the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., asking for its authenticity to be verified. Suspecting it had been stolen, the experts at the library called the police, leading to the man’s arrest.

Apparently, he showed up in court wearing green fatigues and Christian Dior sunglasses.

I feel like this whole thing might be a big practical joke.

Thoughts?
