365 Days of Shakespeare

That's right – the Bard in a year.

116. Smart Spending

Over $2,000 for my financial aid refund came through today. As in, it is in my bank account right now.

First self-indulgent purchase?

I’m thinking a different version of the Complete Works. I have the Yale Shakespeare, Adam has the RSC (which we discovered is wacky while we attempted to read Hamlet together the other night). I’m thinking Riverside this time around.

Thoughts? Alternate suggestions?

  1. If you REALLY want to splurge, check this out. It’s a facsimile of Shakespeare’s First Folio — so of course, it doesn’t have his complete works, but it does have most of his plays (Pericles and The Two Noble Kinsmen, I think, are left out). I’d advise reading up on the FF first though, since some copies of the plays are copied from foul papers, prompt-books, and some may even have been transcribed from memory (if my own memory serves me right). Worth checking out, though, all the same!
