Have you ever seen a really bad version of a Shakespeare play? I mean really bad? Like, gouge-your-eyes-out, stab-your-eardrums bad?

Of course you have. You’re alive. And if you’re reading my blog, you probably go to the theatre or at least to movies. So chances are, you’ve seen at least one hideous rendering of one of the greatest plays in the English language. Tragic, isn’t it?

Well, the good news is that sometimes Shakespeare can be so bad that it’s good. Well, maybe not good, but at least commented on by people who are very funny and therefore make it so bad that it’s good. What am I going on about? Why, none other than the marvelous Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (MST3K for us super-fans), who pick apart this wonderfully horrible made-for-TV German production of Hamlet.
