365 Days of Shakespeare

That's right – the Bard in a year.

27. Shakespeare band names

with 2 comments

My boyfriend and I have an odd collective sense of humor, and as such, like to come up with names for bands that relate to Shakespeare (at least, that was our afternoon activity for today, in between the newest episodes of “House” and “The Daily Show” online). Here are the names we came up with:

The Milksops

Angels and Ministers

My Foul Murder

The Murder of Gonzago

The Groundlings

The Bear-Baiters

Tamora and the Goths

The Trees of Dunsinane

The Strawberry Handkerchief

The Bunchback’d Toads

Rotten! In the State of Denmark

Football Practice! (You had to be there)

Country Matters

We Be the Malefactors

God Kissing Carrion

Shylock and the Pound of Flesh

Bianca and the Suitors

(Beshrew My) Heart <–a Heart tribute band, but they sing everything in iambic pentameter

Here’s hoping one of these comes into existence.

  1. I love ‘Angels and Ministers!’

‘Bianca and the Suitors’ should absolutely come into existence in a a Kiss-Me-Kate-Lois-Plays-Bianca kind of way with a Roxie-Hart-in-‘Chicago’ kind of way. (Pick me! Pick me!)
