365 Days of Shakespeare

That's right – the Bard in a year.

1. The Shakespeare thing I get…

…but why 365?

Well, my reasoning is twofold. One, because I want to challenge myself to write a blog entry every day for 365 days. And two, because I want to prove to people that Shakespeare is not just 30-odd plays and a 100+ sonnets and some long poems no one can remember the names of. I want to prove that there are 365 very interesting things related to Shakespeare that I can talk about and share with the world.

So here goes. Maybe it’ll be the stuff of brilliance, maybe it’ll just be okay, maybe it’ll be a total disaster. I rule out no outcomes. But I hope that it will be something that people will read and enjoy and share.

For my first entry, I leave you with this video of the incredible Antony Sher playing Mackers himself. Behold the creepiness:

  1. Just wanted to say – what an astounding blog! I’ve only just discovered this, but as an ardent Bardolater, I look forward to browsing through this over the next few days. Thanks again
